- OldRadiosExplorerMy Garmin is pretty accurate and recalculates the arrival time throughout the trip. It's usually withing a few minutes. Stop for a half hour and it adds it on to the time. I don't use the RV model, just a 1450, but with low clearances added it does everything I need it to do.
- 1775ExplorerThe arrival time is calculated on the type of road and the speed limits set for those roads in the map software. What it does not know about and does not take into account are how many traffic lights there are, how long you will be stopped at lights, how much under or over the speed limit you will travel. It does make adjustments as you travel and but really just takes that time you are at a certain point into account and then puts in what I stated above for the rest of the trip. Sometimes it averages out close to the actual arrival time and sometimes it is off. It is just an estimate and nothing to take very seriously.

Well, I shut it down and then restarted it and now every thing seems to be OK. Maybe the new firmware did the trick, I don't care since it is now working and displaying correctly.
As with so many of our electronic toys, when all else fails...Reboot!
Glad you got it working properly. - rhingstExplorerWell, I shut it down and then restarted it and now every thing seems to be OK. Maybe the new firmware did the trick, I don't care since it is now working and displaying correctly.

Does that mean that the arrival time it gave you as you started was off by 30 minutes compared to actual arrival time? Or was the actual arrival time off by 30 minutes compared to the arrival time that was showing on the GPS when you arrived? There may be some confusion as to the actual numbers.
This is our 3rd GPS so I do know a little about how to use one. The arrival time at our destination was still off over 30 minutes on a 102 mile trip.
I simply can't imagine how it can be that far off. The three Nuvi's I've used are always within a couple of minutes. - LarryJMExplorer II

Well my 760 and multiple other users don't see what you are claiming so something is astray and I sort of doubt it's the GPS since just to have that function off doesn't make sense to me.
Larry - restlesswindExplorerMy RV760 is pretty close on arrival time.It it were off,I probably would not notice anyway.
If it were off 30 minutes in 102 miles,(and I noticed)I would give Garmin a call. - rhingstExplorerThis is our 3rd GPS so I do know a little about how to use one. The arrival time at our destination was still off over 30 minutes on a 102 mile trip.
- fj12ryderExplorer IIII've never entered any driving speeds anywhere and our Nuvi 465T is usually within a minute or two of correct arrival time. But that arrival time is taken just before we get to our destination. The time constantly changes as travel speeds and times change.
- rode2nowhereExplorerI just ordered the garmin 2597,,,,,have to see if I can learn it too, never had one
