Not even with Compatibility View? - ventrmanExplorerTry using a Mouse and disabling the Touchpad.
- Gonzo42ExplorerYou might try cleaning everything perhaps with alcohol so there are no dirty contancts anywhere. Check connectors, too. Run Ccleaner. I'm still trying to figure out the bizarre jumps I get with Google Maps.
- MNtundraRetNavigatorThe pad on the laptop has settings too, similar to a mouse.
Check the settings. The sensitivity may be too high. Just having the pointer accidently pass over the back arrow may cause the action. - trnflaExplorerIt seems to be an issue with the power grounding.

- fcooperExplorerI'm aware you've solved your problem, but this may help someone else, so I'll post it here.
I encountered the same problem on a Toshiba laptop. It was caused by using a non-oem power supply. Replaced power supply brick with a real Toshiba laptop power brick and problem went away.
