lazy programming in good sam GPS system

I am looking for a new GPS system, to use in our class A. Obviously a big concern is being able to program in the specifics of the rig and the routing to be safe. After that consideration comes all the whistles and bells. We have rejected the Magellan system sold at CW because of unsafe routing issues and just brought home a new Good Sam GPS. Inputting the rv information went smoothly. The first destination we choose has a bridge that has to be avoided, the system routed us properly. Now it was time to start looking at the bells and whistles. The suggested road trips looked interesting and as I was reading the Cajun country trip it ends with..spend the night in the cabins somewhere.
This Software is written for RVers. We have our homes with us!
Marcus, you are careful in your business, your employees were not careful in their programming. Cut and paste was not their friend. This may not seem like a big deal, but as I continue to use this system, I continue to find other issues, that are make this system to cumbersome to use. It going back to the store.
  • I bought one and then returned it. It didn't have the promised lifetime updates and the design was pretty bad.

Very good ideas, but the system is not ready for prime time.
  • I received a Good Sam GOS 7725 a few weeks ago for my Bday. Initially, I was blown away by the features and beautiful screen. I have used many GPS's in the past and very familiar with their operations. I've used the 7725 now for several trips, both new and familiar. I've run in to several problems or shortcomings that are driving me crazy!
    1. Very poor POI selections and searches! It didn't even recognize the city I was in! It couldn't find Cleveland, OH, much less Cleveland, Tx!
    2. I couldn't find the NP I was staying at. A National Park!
    3. When you type a city in the search, it 'guesses' what city you're looking for. It does provide a list but it's either a 50 city/St list you have to scroll thru or it's NOT on the list. In that case, it will not let you finish typing the city's name!
    4. On several occasions I requested a 'compare routes' feature. The one route was 229 miles. The other route was 611 miles!! There were at least 3 other rts that were under 250 miles!!
A lot of good features, but VERY frustrating to use!
These are only a few of the many problems I encountered. Save your money, buy a GPS from a GPS company! :h
