You can import your IE favorites into Edge so they won't be missing. While in Edge, click on the 3 short horizontal lines in the upper right. On the dialog that opens, there is a link in the upper right labeled "Import favorites" that will let you import your favorites from IE.

Believe it or not, I tried that through the Settings. When it said All Done, it didn't have anything except for adding the current page was on.

As someone else said, Edge needs a lot of work.

Edge still needs a lot of work. You can't even directly transfer your Firefox bookmarks.

I wouldn't worry about that. #1 - it's obviously wrong, it's fully supported, #2 They are probably misidentifying the browser because it's new.

There is no fool-proof way for a website to know what browser you're using because they have to rely entirely on a string provided by the browser and then compare it to values they know about. The string can be changed by the end-user (for example, this is a well-known technique for getting a mobile version of a website from a desktop or vice-versa) and if the server doesn't regularly update the known strings they recognize it will become stale.

Sadly, many banks are in the dark ages when it comes to technology.

My expierence with Edge (i have 4 browsers on this machine) is that many web sites are not yet Edge Friendly.. By that I mean they simply do not work.

My Anti-Virus does not complain about Edge (it does some web sites) but Some websites work on Edge, Some on Chrome, Some on MSIE and some on Firefox.. But many do not work on "All of the above" and what makes it more fun is that SOME work on one computer, but not the other, SAME BROWSER. Ain't the Internet grand.

I nearly always sign in to Outlook or Bing and then switch over to Explorer. I don't like Edge, print is smaller and it's missing my favorites.

If you haven't discovered that feature.
Look up at far right corner. 3 dots ... More actions.
Open up and scroll down to 3rd from bottom - Open with Internet Explorer

e Edge is still at bottom left, but e Explorer is also there on far right.

I use CHROME here and have a whole bunch of TABS loaded from the BOOKMARKS folder.. CHROME works better for me doing these some ten TABS I always have opened than FIREFOX does...

I left IE a long time ago as it got to be too big of data hog...

I use a few programs on the new EDGE and the multitude of opened TABS on chrome..

One of the main things I like about CHROME is I can click on just about anything inside some text I am looking at and it will open up a GOOGLE search of what I selected... This is great for forming correct spelled words in a phrase of look at things folks in forums are talking about. I can't do that from the new MS EDGE explorer...

8.1 Van - I doubt the bank is asking for integrated authentication.

Gonecamping444 - In many respects Edge is probably more secure than other browsers because it doesn't support extensions, at least for the time being. What exactly do the warning messages say? Is it this? If so, I think Norton is full of it. It's just mad that it can't inject itself in the mix.

What warning do you get from your bank? Hopefully, it's not that it requires Java because in that case you should tell your bank that they're not secure.

In any case, IE is still on your computer, just search for it. Be aware that the icons for Edge and IE are extremely similar so you have to pay attention to which is which. Or use Chrome or Firefox.

Edge is new and as such has not yet been included as trusted by many sites and apps. Easiest thing to do would be to use Chrome. For Norton you should check with them for solutions.
