No TV - SensarPro could have died?

Have the usual batwing antenna. Couple of years ago I installed a Winegard SensarPro signal finder and it has worked fine until yesterday when the TV suddenly stopped working on all channels. The bedroom TV doesn't work either. The SensarPro does seem to indicate that it is getting a signal which would mean it's not the antenna or the co-ax between antenna and SensarPro.

Could the SensarPro have simply failed or is there something else to check? I'd check the antenna but don't have a ladder with us.

I would have to believe that if you have it set to antenna, the gain is set to 10 (always start here!) and the signal strength in in the 50 or above range then the issue is down stream from the Sensar Pro but it certainly could be a bad TV output from the Sensar Pro as well. There are 2 of these (the "to TV" mini coax cables) so you can try swapping to see if that helps.
  • We've had the same issue after an extended drive over EXTREMELY rough roads.

We ran a coax direct from the batwing to the TV and everything works fine. We checked all visible connections and they are good. Most likely one of the cables in the wall that attaches to the Sensor Pro came off while on the really rough road.

If the sensar pro is indicating then yes he has the Antenna selected,...

You couldn't be more wrong !
SP gets its signal directly from batwing.
  • To check if power is getting to the batwing. Go up on the roof and unhook the cable. Test the cable for 12V. If it has the 12v than the antenna needs replaced.

If no 12V at cable then check at sensor pro for 12V.

If the sensar pro is indicating then yes he has the Antenna selected,... HOWEVER there is one more setting GAIN.. What is your GAIN set to.. if it's ZERO, you have one big hint as to the problem, try 10, or 20
  • Stupid questions: Are you selected on the external "park" input?
  • Anything is possible, but I would look for a loose connection from the SensarPro to the TVs. Attachment to the SensarPro is via short Coax cables which may have vibrated loose where they are connected to the circuit board. If you saved the old power board when you installed the SensarPro, try putting it back in and see if anything works. If it soes, you have your answer.
