Iphine you sign up and give them a CC number. Basically the same for Android. Once you have given them the info you simply click.
iPad
Easiest is go to almost any store and get an Itunes gift card and redeem it on the site.
Maybe the safest, but not the easiest. Easiest is not leaving your house and simply associating a CC with your account. Then you can make purchases any time you want without having to get another gift card. You willhave to enter your Apple password each time so you’ll know when you’re using it.
Since most people probably leave the house everyday or so I don't see going to the store as a major obstacle. Most apps cost less than $5 so I would guess $25 would get you by for a while. - wnjjExplorer II

I’ve only used free apps. How does one pay for an app? When I clicked on one that cost I got a box that said something about my account and showed my email.
THis is for Google but I assume IOS is much the same way
There are 3 ways to pay for the APP in the APP store
1: At Check out you feed it a credit/debit card
2: Google Wallet/Google Pay
3: Bill it to the phone
I've used two of those - Mortimer_BrewstExplorer IIYour email address is probably your Apple ID also. That’s why it’s popping up.
On the iPad to redeem an iTunes gift card you will need to open your iTunes Store app. Scroll to the bottom and click redeem. You can then use the iPad’s camera to scan the scratch off code from the gift card.
If you want to register a credit card with your account open the iTunes Store app and scroll to the bottom. Click on your Apple ID (email address) and then look for Payment Information. - Mountain_MamaExplorer

iPad - On my Android I can charge it to my phone bill account. When I click on buy app it prompts me to authorize the charge. Click yes, done. Easy and no CC.
- coolmom42Explorer IIYou have some method of payment set up with either your Apple account or your Google account.
- lap527ExplorerI buy gift cards. I really don't want to use my cc. I have an iPad and android tablet and I use gift cards on both.
- aguablancoExplorerIt can also be added to your phone bill.
