Wifi extender using a satellite dish?
Hello I'm looking for a budget way to get a wifi signal from the house down to a trailer about 100 yards away.
I'm seeing direction wifi extenders, but they all seem to be hardwired to the router.
There are also the repeater style wifi extenders that plug into an outlet. That would make install much easier. I was going to mount it under the roof eaves and use dielectric grease and other methods to weather proof it best I can.
There are 2 abandoned dish network satellite dishes mounted right where I plan to put the wifi extender.
What if I mounted the wifi extender in front of the satellite dish and pointed it at my trailer.
Would it reflect the 2.4 wavelength similar to a purpose build direction wifi extender?
