Can we tow safetly with Sequoia?

Based on the dry trailer and hitch weight you could hit tongue weights of 690 lbs. What is the payload capacity of the Sequoia? How many passesngers and how much gear is expected in the vehicle?

I'm not sure what the payload capacity of our specific vehicle is but when I did a search online, it said somewhere between 1300-1400. We usually travel very light so the only thing we would have inside the vehicle would be passengers and a dog. I'm thinking total weight would be around 500 pounds max. The Sequoia is a V8.

There should be a sticker on the drivers door jamb with "payload capacity" for your rig AS BUILT

As long as you have the 4.7 V8, you will be fine. I use to pull a 25 ft trailer, about 6,500 lbs fully loaded with my old 2000 Tundra 4.7 V8, which is basically the same drive train as what you've got, though the tow rating is a bit lower on the Sequoia because it's heavier than the Tundra. I see no problem with that trailer.

You'll have no problem towing it, plenty of power. Biggest issue will be payload and tongue weight. I think you'll be close but ok there too.

If you loaded the trailer to its GVWR (which most don't) and took the high average 13% of that for tongue weight (~650lbs) plus 500lbs for passengers you would still be under 1200lbs payload.

I towed bigger and heavier with a smaller V8 4Runner.

Check the sticker on the driver door jamb and post it. How many passengers, adult and children. Your dry hitch weight is 14% which is high and that is how I got 690 lbs for TW. Two adults and 3 children could go 700 lbs and could max out payload. Need the actual payload capacity to get an accurate answer.
