Hiya, just bought a used 5th wheel and noticed that one type of lamp is not working throughout the trailer: the wall mounted halogen lamps with shades. All the standard plastic casing ceiling mounts work. All the metal reading lights with directional neck work. But the 3 more decorative lamps with shades (2 above the headboard and 1 on the slide wall) do not. I've only tried replacing the bulbs at this point and I don't have a great comfort level with electricity, but could this be a fuse thing?
I'm plugged into 30amp service. The light fixtures bear a warning label that says use only 12v lamps type 912 or 921. I removed one of the lamps, brought it with me and bought the identical bulb (912). The fuse box is arranged as usual, power hogs on their own fuses, everything else arranged by room on 15 amp fuses. These light fixtures are on opposite ends of the trailer, and every other appliance, electrical outlet, and type of light fixture works without a hiccup. The only visible wiring I find anywhere in the trailer is in the front basement compartment, powering the jacks.
They do make 12VDC halogen lights... I just did a search on google "12v halogen light bulb" and got a bunch of hits including AMAZON...
Probably need to get the part number off one of your bulbs and see which Voltage is required to operate...

Are you on shore power? Most halogens only work on 110 volts. You might check to see if someone put 110 volt bulbs in 12 volt fixture. Won't get any light that way!
