Has anyone ever tried one of these out ? I wonder if it would be worth it in my Travel Trailer when I am dry camping and using my 2, 6 volt deep cycle golf cart batteries ? I could warm up the bed with it as I go to sleep and then use my body heat to keep it warm after that. I will be going out this Saturday night. It will be 20 degrees f that night. I will not start the furnace until I go to bed and it can be chilly in there for awhile until it heats up. I would like to keep the furnace set at 50 degrees after that to save power as I am sleeping. I wonder if it is worth it or if I would be better of to just save my money and battery power to let the furnace do it's thing ?

Take DW, or GF, to prewarm bed. Just have her go to bed 15 min before you. Save on power, and likely more fun than 12V blanket IMO.Jerry

I wouldn't want to mess with long cables heavy enough to carry 50a efficiently. But I don't have a TC so my batteries are a good 10 feet from the bed.I have used a household blanket on inverter, they don't draw that much wattage.

Get a good sleeping bag. Don't draw down your 12v with a blanket to the point where you don't have anything left to run the furnace in the morning.

When I', dry camping in the RV in cold weather (down into the teens), I use my winter sleeping bag. In the morning a crawl out just long enough to kick on the furnace for about 20 minutes before getting up.

We've had 2 of these for many years. Don't know if they're the same mfgr, but the specs and timers, etc. are the same. Definitely work very well. I also found a power brick so I could run them off the regular 120vac. Even if you don't sleep with them on, they are great for pre-warming the bed. They work in your vehicle too. Since they are small and store compactly we've taken them many places.
