2 way refrigerator not working in AC mode.

Hi, I have a newer Norcold 2 way fridge (LP/AC). It's working great in LP mode but not in AC mode. I verified there was power going to the plug and that none of the breakers were tripped. Any suggestions?
  • It seems to be working fine now. Maybe I just didn't give it enough time to start cooling initially. Thanks!
  • Mine will take a good 6 to 8 Hours to start cooling on AC after a period of down time, But will cool quite fast on GAS. Did you give it ling enough time to start cooling?
  • Couple things to check

110V AC power to outlet fridge plugs in to. OK!

110V AC power at electric element when ON.....NO

Pull cover on module and check for blown fuse...5A

IF you don't have 110V at element and/or fuse is blown then you need a new element

Model number of fridge would help

Thanks! When you say "auto" do you mean the electric setting? My fridge has 3 options, electric, gas or off nothing that says auto.
That's a new one on me, but then I have a Dometic, it has Gas, electric or Auto, which automatically switches to electric IF 120v is present, if not, it switches to propane.

  • 1. Switch the refer to "Auto".

    2. Unplug the refer.

    3. Connect your AC voltmeter across the AC heating element.

    4. Plug in the refer.

If you have "zero Volts", you have a bad control board.

If you have ~120 Volts, you have a bad heating element.
