Any experience with Good Sam Travelassist medevac

Does anyone have experience--pro or con--with Good Sam's Travelassist medevac insurance plan?

Does anyone have experience--pro or con--with another similar plan you think I should either consider or avoid like the plague?

I'm finally old enough and sick enough to admit I need to have a plan when we travel, either in the US or abroad, either in the RV or not. The Good Sam plan sounds great when I read the onscreen ads for it, but of course everything someone wants you to buy sounds great when you read their ads! I'd like some real world feedback if anyone has any you'd care to share.

Thx.

Tom
  • We bought MASA, a lifetime policy. DH's uncle had it and used it at least 3 times to transport him from Florida back to his doctor's in Indiana. DH also has heart problems, has an ICD and CHF. We went to Alaska last summer. MASA covered us, no problem, but we didn't use it. Also took a satellite phone with us.

    Good luck.

  • I have seen a couple of these thread and followed them in the last few months.
No one ever replied that they had used the service.

Well, there was one guy associated with a competing service that put down Good Sam. I think we can all disregard that one.

I am sure it's like any other insurance type plan that you need to know all the requirements to decide if it's right for you.
But where to find all that fine print is a mystery.
  • I'm interested in this also as I just bought a policy for $140.00 from Good Sam due to the fact that I not only have a serious heart condition, but AFib also. Am planning on another trip to Alaska this Summer as had to cut our last attempt short just West of Edmonton due to congestive heart failure. Don't want to leave my DW stranded.
