Best roadside for cars, motorcyces and bicycles?

Hello all :)

Is AAA the gold standard for non-RV roadside assistance?

I see there are similar programs for motorcycles. Which one do you have, and how do you like it?

Do they cover bicycles, too?

Just added RV coverage with AAA and they will tow 100 miles free. There is no restriction on dual wheeled vehicles. They offer the best battery service in the Industry. All my vehicles

have AAA batteries. They come out and change it, if it goes dead they will replace it if it's faulty. Beats any warranty and they do the work and even less money than if I did it myself.
  • AAA used to not deal with any types of duallys. That is why we switched to Good Sam. Check what you are getting.
  • Try the other AMA, American Motorcycle Assoc, $29 a year.
Used it for an unlock on the Yukon XL.
  • According to the AAA website roadside assistance is limited to 4 free assistance calls per member per year.

I don't know if aaa is the gold standard, but I've had them for about 30 years now. Some years I never use them for roadside assistance, sometimes they get used multiple times. I will say that I've never been disappointed with their service. They usually quote up to 90 minutes for assistance but it's usually under 30 minutes.

We also take advantage of any discounts that are offered to aaa members (restaurants, attractions, etc) which helps make up for the cost. I think cost may vary by area, here it is $198 for two people with AAA Plus with NO RV coverage.

We've also used the AAA travel services for traveling. We've saved more than the price of membership on each trip we've booked through them.

    Hope this helps!

Does AAA limit how many calls per year you can have? Not that I plan a lot, but for comparison purposes. I spent a lot of time on their website, but did not find this info.

I do see they cover bicycles now. What about motorcycles?

AMA covers all of the above, and RVs, and is cheap. But reviews online are not great. Granted, most reviews are from when their service was new.
  • Check AAA Out. I have AAA plus RV. They cover all my vehicles and my travel trailer if I need road side assistance. I also like the discounts you get from AAA at hotels, attractions,
    and car rental, etc.
