- down_homeExplorer IIFill tanks with it. Leave it running into tank being flushed until clear and then five minutes by factory recomendation.
Close black tank valve fill for about three minutes, switch to gray, let continue to run until clear and another minute or so unless really slow water stream.
Close and disconnect.
never hve a smelly sewer hose. Usually smells like Liquid shower soap, laundry detergent and dandruff shampoo. Nice and clean and no dandruff. - mileshuffExplorer

I used my Flush King for 12 years and have no complaints other than the amount of water used when compared to a tank sprayer.
A combination of spraying and back flushing works best for me. Sprayer alone does not get it clean. I still have to back flush once or twice. The Flush King isn't required as the sprayer as you stated will fill the tank as well. - azjeffhExplorer

I've let the sprayer run for 10+ minutes many times only to find considerable junk coming out with a few back flushes. Same thing on multiple trailers. May have a lot to do with tank and plumbing design.
Not saying back flushing is useless, just believe my sprayer does a better job. It will not only fill the tanks like the Flush King but sprays the sides as well.

As you know the FK requires a lot of water to backflush and must be done multiple times. Not really convinced that it did better than our current tank sprayer.

Next I close Flush King and allow tank to fill a couple gallons then close tank valve, open Flush King and disconnect.

I have a black tank flush on my rig but I've been using a Flush King with better results. Plus is allows me to flush the gray tanks if I want.
I kept the Flush King from our previous trailer but now use it mainly for a hose connection when cleaning my water softener (I won't go into details).

Anyway, here's an interesting video on the subject .. tank flushing. While the tank used is obviously not an RV tank, it was interesting to see how well the different products worked in that situation. - allen8106ExplorerI have a black tank flush on my rig but I've been using a Flush King with better results. - CavemanCharlieExplorer IIII don't run it at all. My older TT didn't come with one. I see no reason to have one. My TT has the bathroom sink plumbed into the high side of black tank.
After draining the black tank I dump a couple of buckets of water down the sink.
Then I drain the gray.
Then I dump a couple of quarts of water down the gray tank.
Then I go.
No need to get it any cleaner then that. Just going to get dirty again next weekend. Been doing this for years.
I will admit that my tank sensors are not very reliable. The only one I watch is the fresh water sensor and that one works just fine. - WalabyExplorer II

1 Never tow with shtuff in the tank (only to the dump site)
Disagree. I try not to tow with full tanks, because my cleanout connection at home is not convenient for the trailer, but I have done it.
Only reason I would say don't tow with a full tank is if it puts you overweight. But other than that, tow away.
