FREE Campsite all year round

Brazos Bend State Park, a premier park in the Texas State Park system, is currently seeking volunteer park hosts. The duties of park hosts will vary, but commonly include minor maintenance and repairs to grounds and facilities, general housekeeping, assisting park staff with interpretive programs and special events, fee collecting via computerized registration and assisting visitors by providing general information. Park hosts work approximately 25-30 hours a week and, in exchange for those services, the hosts are provided with a campsite during their stay. The campsites have either 50 or 30 amp. service and are equipped with sewer connections. Park hosts service agreements are set for a minimum of 2 months and can be up to a maximum of 6 months.

This is a great opportunity to spend time in a wonderful location and meet fellow travelers. Brazos Bend State Park is located in Texas Gulf Coast Travel Region, approximately 45-miles southwest of downtown Houston, and about 20 miles south of Sugar Land, Texas. This 5,000 acre park encompasses 6 lakes, 37-miles of multi-use trails, a nature center, an observatory, 73 water & electric campsites, 13 shelters, 4 primitive camping areas, a group dining hall, several fishing piers and numerous interesting water features. Wildlife viewing opportunities at Brazos Bend State Park are exceptional! For more information and a park host application, contact Tina Ibarra, Brazos Bend State Park, 21901 FM 762, Needville, TX 77461 or e-mail tina.ibarra@tpwd.texas.gov. :C 979.553.5101 x 221
  • Mike LeBlanc,

Tina has been out of the office for the past week. She is back in the office this week so you might try her email again.

  • I'm always disappointed when emails are not answered in a prompt manner. My email to the OP has not been answered in two days!
  • This is one of the neatest parks in the state! Lots to do and see in the park - miles of hike/bike trails - all easy, lots of wildlife from alligators to birds to deer and more, nice campgrounds, and even a first class observatory right in the park. Easy drive to Houston and Galveston. Shopping and other facilities nearby. Haven't hosted there, but it's near home base and we visit often because it's such a nice park.

Campgrounds without hook-ups usually have full hook-ups for camp hosts and employees.
