GM IBC to Prodigy brake controller questions. 08 Chevy 2500

Hi all, I am considering installing a Prodigy brake controller and disabling the GM IBC on my 08 Duramax 2500. Does anyone know what needs to be done to accomplish the disabling of the IBC?

Thanks in advance for any help. I'll check back later....sister just pulled in:)

Long story short...we believe there is an issue with the body control module (BCM), but can't be 100% sure since we can't come up with any codes. When the malfunction occurs, I get a "Service Trailer Brakes" message on the dash along with flashing idiot lights for both the ABS and Brake systems, and chimes. When all of this happens, I have no trailer brakes. When it goes away, they work fine. That's not a very comforting situation. When all of this happens, the truck brakes are fine. It seems that we don't find any codes there might have been due to already clearing by the time I can get the truck to my dealer/mechanic. So rather than throwing unknown amounts of money trying to fix an issue we can't isolate, that's why I am considering bypassing the IBC.
