- Community AlumniI have a local insurance agent who deals solely in travel insurance. She selects companies depending upon rates available at the time. The past three years I've had three different companies.

I don't know where you are based, your profile is blank, but if you're in a Province with a time limit on your absense from the Province, like Ontario, Alberta and BC the new agreement with the US whereby the US tells Canada when you've entered the US might lead to a nasty health care surprise.
For instance, if the Ontario government finds out you've been out of the Province for more than 120 days a year, outside of certain exemptions, temporary work assignment, etc, your health coverage is cut off. Read the fine print on the secondary private health coverage, it requires you keep your Provincial health coverage in place. If not, your premiums go through the roof. - pianotunaNomad IIII take the 30 days for free and then top up after that. You must apply while you are still in Canada. Last year I was south for 110 days. The extra 80 days cost nearly $10 per day.
- JagtechExplorerGood luck with this. Let me know if you find an insurance company that won't disqualify you should you neglect to tell them about that hangnail last year.....
