How much do you pay to insure your trailer?

Basically, the easiest way to find out if your current company is charging you excessively or not, is to make a few phone calls and get a few quotes from other companies.

Keep in mind that in addition to your location, it matters whether you are full or part time, and it also matters whether the policy is actual cash value (current blue book price), agreed value, or total loss replacement. So responses to forum questions like this can be comparing apples and oranges.

Matches is at $450 a yr. 1000 deductable. I know cheaper insurance is available, not sure if limits are raised to meet umbrella minimums.

Seems a bit high but not unrealistic. I'd shop around.
Our camper (only worth around $10k) is about $150 attached to our AmFam policy.
It's not dollar for dollar based on value. Boat was insured for $50k replacement and was $300 a year now for ACV of under $40k and less than $300.

We have full replacement coverage ($35K) coverage on our fifth wheel trailer as required by our lender. Full replacement coverage is for the first four years, agreed valued after that. It is separate RV insurance not connected with our auto policy. $400/year with Nationwide. Not sure what the deductible is -- probably $1,000.

My trailer is insured with State Farm for $438 a year. I carry a motor home contents coverage endorsement that is about $72 of that annual cost. A friend just had her trailer stolen and trashed. Insurance paid the value of the trailer less her deductible. Some of her contents could have been covered by her homeowner's insurance, but paying the $2,000 deductible would have made that a useless solution.

2015 Rushmore Springfield worth about $45k.

Covered on auto policy from PEMCO. $346 per year, $500 deductible for Collision, $200 deductible for Comprehensive. No cost for liability as this coverage extends from coverage on truck.

I check rates every year or two, and have never been able to find rates that can come close to PEMCO for auto and home.

Sounds very high to me compared to what we pay for $100 deductible full coverage 100,000/300,000 liability insurance on our RV's but then everything is quite a bit more expensive west of the Rockies.

2 years ago and for over 30 years with the Ins Co we had was $35 and $36 per 6 months each added to our blanket vehicle ins policy and had our home, second home, all vehicles, 2 boats, and the 3 RV's covered under one blanket policy as it sure saved lots of money yearly.

We had changed carriers 2 years ago this month and the policy is due for a somewhat similar blanket policy premium is due on the 29th of October and it's exactly the same as last year cost. We'd changed take advantage of the umbrella they offered with $1.5 million liability which our previous carrier did not have. We were happy with the previous carrier but wanted more liability coverage and some more discounts and had to change to get it and that is the reason for the change.

Our new carrier's blanket policy adds the RV's and boats to the Home Owners policy coverage instead of being on the vehicle policy and still has a $100 deductible. The cost per the 2 RV's presently owned is still unchanged for the last 3 years including the 2019 renewal at $78/yr and $113/yr so just a little more expensive but has a nice umbrella coverage too. The new carrier also gives sizable discounts for having a college education and excellent credit record which we have and our previous didn't offer at competitive rates.

If our present carrier should raise the premium costs much at all, we'd surely change again to keep a lower cost as we sure are not married to any ins co. Simply be competitive in the marketplace or we won't spend our money with you and you will lose our business! It's that simple and easy!

Insurance costs differ so much between states, locations, and personal driving records and various qualifying factors so there's no real standard to gauge from.

Insurance now days is so dependent on zip codes its nearly impossible to compare yours to mine. The exact same coverage from the exact same company on the exact same RV can vary widly.
