Since I can't believe that the post of "I love my manual awning has gone on and on, I decided to tell why I love my power awning.My brothers and sisters and I were having a camping trip together in the NF last week. One day when we all had our awnings out, a sudden hail storm came up with huge hail stones. Everyone ran to get their awnings in. I was the only one that had a power awning. I just pushed the switch and in it came sooo easily and quickly.:D Guess what... I was the only one that didn't have their awning destroyed. My siblings were:MI LOVE my POWER AWNING!!!!! :B

I love mine as well. So easy to open and close. Does well in rain with auto dump. No problems so far.

I love ours as well, auto dump both sides and comes in with a push of the button.

One of the things I like best about my trailer is the power awning. My neighbor needed help with his awning and started the conversation with "how do you open and close your awning". The look on his face when I told him I push a button was "priceless".

When our awning needs to go out, my wife pushes the button. When it needs to come back in, she pushes the button again. When it rains, it dumps itself. Our last TT aperently needed me to open and close it.

Sprained my finger on the awning switch last week. :)

My wife woke me up at 4:30 in the morning and told me to bring in the awning because it was keeping her awake. The only problem was I brought in the awning at 9 P.M. when we went to bed. Don't know what she was listening to!
Another time she told me to not get the campstove too close to the propane tank because she thought it would be dangerous. When I informed her the campstove operated on propane she looked at me like I had lobsters crawling out of my ears.

I use a pair of the cheap de-flappers from WM on the end of the electric awning that flaps a little in the wind.....have not had any problems. That same day had winds of over a little 20mph. I use my awning poles also.

Uh, oh.....Electric awning won't go out.. I never had this problem with my manual awning.

I (DW) could put our manual awning out and in without any problems. I also can push the button on our electric awning that we have now. I didn't/don't have a problem with either one. I am a bit more nervous with the electric since I can't use de-flappers so if a breeze comes up, awning comes in... I have been told that it will take a good breeze but don't take the chance. Plus, here in Wyoming - what we call a breeze, other parts of the country could call a wind. :D

So nice the other night, my wife woke me at 4:30 saying the awning was keeping her awake because it had gotten windy and she thought it was going to get damaged. Got up, hit the button and was back in bed 30 seconds later. Easy.

Love the one I had on my 2008 Jayco TT..and when we looked at this 2011 Jayco FW, the power awning had an issue...told them it would be a deal breaker if not fixed, I would not have it if the power awning had a problem. Thank goodness it was very minor and the issue was corrected..because I really wanted the new camper...but it would have been a deal breaker!!

Gotta love the new powered awning. It allows my young son to put awning in for mom while I'm away from the campground. No more frantic phone calls telling me to hurry back to put the awning down.
