motorhome leveling jacks

Hello everyone, i like to do my own work, is it safe to remove wheels or work under motorhome with just the leveling jacks down or should i use jack stands or wood blocks? Also do leveling jacks have a lock pin? Thanks for all your advice & keep safe out there.
  • My wheels only come off to replace a tire or work on the brakes, and then i have wood blocks under the axle,

I use the leveling Jack's to get more elbow room when going under the MH, but the tires always stay on the Ground
Jack's are hydraulic cylinders, No Locking pins
  • My theory is that I have to go under the motorhome to place the jack stands, so I only use them when I also need to work under the motorhome. For tire or other related external work where I'll be basically clear of the motorhome, I use the leveling jacks only. To be fair, even if the jacks on our coach failed while I was under it I would not be crushed. For most underneath projects, jacking it up just gives me more elbow room...

    Yep.

  • NO!!! NO! NO! Use additional support, such as HEAVY DUTY jack stands or wooden blocks.
  • I would never go underneath an RV supported only but leveling jacks.
