No #2 Rule?

So I get an email from a camping buddy this morning who was telling me about his friend who invited him on a guy's weekend in his Class A to attend an event. So my buddy decided to go, and when they arrived at the event, camping site were set up in an adjacent in a field, but they had full hook ups. (My buddy has a huge Class A DP, but figured it would be fun to let somebody else drive for a change.)

The RV owner announces to the group that there will be no #2 in the RV toilet, only #1. Anybody needing to do #2 was to use the porta-pottis that were set up. Apparently this was not just because it was a "guy's weekend", but the guy has owned several RV's, and has always adhered to a "no #2 rule" for the family. His explanation was that it "caused problems dumping the tanks".

Personally one of the reasons I own an RV is to avoid having to use a port-potti for anything, let alone #2.

So the question for the forum is, does anybody else have similar rules on the RV bathrooms regarding the toilet, shower or anything else?

The worst thing is that if one allows people nearby to use a bathroom... you will get a line out your door in no short order.

When boondocking and my TT is winterized, I do #1 in the toilet. #2, I use a plastic grocery store bag that gets wrapped up and tossed afterwards (during use, it is secured with a carabiner, so there is little chance of it falling into the black tank.) No running water for most people usually means they look elsewhere for a bathroom.

Can't you hook up to water at the campground?

Yes, we do if the campground has hookups, but most our state ones don't have water hookups, and even electrical hookups are far and few between at state ones, however they all have quite nice bathroom facilities.

Many people suffer from these things called Phobias.. For example I happen to suffer from Acrophobia (Fear of heights) so when you understand I used to work in the roofing trade.. You know I had to learn to control it, big time, (it has re-emerged a bit since I stopped falling off roofs.. Though I can still make it to the top of my ladder on the RV.. I really do not like more than 12 feet at all (And not all that comfortable at 12).

Some folks have .. Well.. Poop-a-phobia. They just do not want to deal with it.

What can I say.. Some folks do not even like RV's and would rather stay in a hotel where you do not know who last slept in the bed or what is under it and you can only hope they did a good job of cleaning.

Others, would rather RV.

Many people = many different phobias and likes.

Family Only!! Can use the toity!! All else are encouraged to use the thunder huts! Wife has full use anytime,, I will take dog for a walk and use the thunder hut as much a possible,,Dog gets up and goes out in the wee hours,, I take him and use a tree!!
I don't consider our TT toilet as a public restroom!! Took the trailer to a work event and had three others guys stay in it with me for four days!! Should have used the no #2 Rule!! Never again!! After the second day I left the "Brush" next to the toilet!!
So YES, I can understand the No#2 Rule by non family members!

We use our own bathroom for whatever we may need it for. I think we camp around too many people that refuse to use theirs - the campground bathrooms almost always gag me. What do you people eat?!

I have never cared much for public facilities. I only use them for #1 when I have to. That's why I have a camper. Now, being handicapped/disabled, my right hip is fused among other things, I can not sit on a commode without a urinal, and I'll be damxxx if I carry one of those around a campground. I have my bathroom and shower fixed to where I can use them.

Here are my rules:

If doing #2, please limit yourself to one TP roll per "session".
If doing #1, #2, or technicolor yawns, please use the toilet, and not the floor, shower or sink.

Anything else, especially cloth products for that time of the month go into the trash can that is by the toilet. Picking the contents of a tampon out of the blades of my macerator pump is not my idea of a good time.

We do it all in the toy hauler, that is why we bought it.

Yes I do. For instance, no taking a shower in the RV, no watching TV before midnight unless there is a downpour, nothing but wood in the fire pit, leave the camp site better then you found it, etc.

No taking a shower? Why even have a Rv, use a tent instead.

It is so weird to read about all of these different quirks and phobias people have. Why wouldn't people use their own, personal toilet for what it is intended? What are you people afraid of? This is very, very strange, indeed.

I'll just say that the kids have a funny game they like to play when I drain the black tank. I have a clear sewer hose coupler. That's all I'll tell....

I am dieing laughing here on this one.
I used to have that rule in the popup & the TT. USE the public toilets we are paying for you to use them. ONLY in extreme emergency could you do #2 in the camper. You had better be close to death to use #2 in my camper. Now I am getting older, wiser and using full hookups. If you gotta go, you gotta go!
I still practice the daytime rule if I can walk to the johnnie house I will use it but if not the camper works for me. I use the black tank rinse all the time and If we are camped more than 3-4 days I will clean it out mid trip. The wife uses it like our house. BUT I really was laughing hard on this one..
Thanks for the laughs,

I think the key in the original post was that it was a Guy's Weekend.
We don't have the no #2 rule, but if I had a bunch of beer drinkin', pork rind eatin' guys in my camper, I'd institute the no #2 rule as well. No turbo fan or air freshener could eliminate that odor.

By the way, we do have a type of #1 rule in our camper: If you are a guy, you either go outside somewhere, or you sit when you do it in the camper.

There's never been more that 4 people stay in our present motorhome. So far, we have no restrictions. All I do is give a thorough briefing on how to use the toilet and the shower. This is our 6th motorhome, and we've always had them because of the convenience factor.
