Norcold N611 do they have a defrost cycle or not

Noticed the temp seemed up in the fridge and freezer on electric
Felt the stack outside in the compartment and it was cold
Waited half hour and it’s warm like it’s heating
Is it possible it was doing a defrost ??
If so how often and for how long does it do that
  • The manual doesn’t say it has a defrost but calling Norcold they said it does, they said as soon as it hits 38 in the fridge it should kick back on ... I think the above post is more accurate that it’s off 2 hrs
Also the manual says or implies that IF something goes wrong with the ac heater than it will switch to gas automatically and the gas light will be on and the on light will flash
Also says if the on light is on but flashes 1 time every 3 Seconds that means the temp sensor failed and it’s in back up mode
Wonder how reliable these codes are
  • That must be why it was 45 in the fridge and also we were in itbat lunch time and adding back in room temp stuff
The coils were cold, I then checked in an hour and the coils weee warm and the fridge was 37
When I said 45 it was 45 in the fridge
  • Yes there is a 'defrost' mode but is NOT a true defrost.
Cooling cycle is suspended for up to 2 hours every 48 to 54 hours if fridge runs continuously and allows the fins in food compartment to defrost any ice and drain

    No it was 45

45 degrees inside the coach is too cold from my own direct experience.
  • I do not believe so. It could be that the interior was cold to the point that the burner or 120 volt element was not on.
