Replacing interior headliner in Class C

My new-to-me Winnebago had a similar problem from a past AC leak. The stain was not as extensive, but the dealer steam cleaned it, and it is almost completely gone. Might be worth a try before you take your ceiling down

You need to work slowly, cut one panel at a time, work from the center outward, and work slowly. I used my bare hands to push the material in place, you have a better feel for the lumps and wrinkles as they start to form.

Oops-found your olde post about materials. So how did you get fabric to be so nice and flat? Looks like new!

go to any automobile supply store, buy a can of white upholstery/vinyl spray, and try it before you start tearing stuff down.

My thoughts are to maybe....maybe apply new fabric over the top of the old fabric. Not sure if it will adhere properly though. It sure would reduce the mess of taking down the old fabric.

I also was thinking of using a steamer to remove the old fabric if I were to move in that direction. However, my fear is the steamer may soften the glue used to adhere the foam backer. Then I have a real mess on my hands.

We have a 2003 Minnie Winnebago. The ceiling liner looks the same as yours. A few years back we did the factory tour at Forest City. One thing we saw was the assembly of the sidewall panels, which are made up of layers glued together and run through a press to get good adhesion. We didn't see them making the roof, but the process is likely the same. IMO you are going to have a very difficult time removing the ceiling fabric. A heat gun might be of help, but it's a very large area to remove. Installing new fabric so that it looks good would be a challenge also.

You should be able to get this MH at a very good price due to this cosmetic damage.

Perhaps a call to Winnebago Customer Service at (800)-537-1885 would get some suggestions about removing the stain from the fabric.
