RV antenna question...?

(OP here- I am resurrecting this thread to ask in new post #9 below on this page about current RV antenna technology)

For a few reasons, I removed the antenna from my truck camper... I believe it is a fairly common model/ type.

Does this antenna collapse or telescope into itself? It sorta looks like it might, but I do not want to snap or break anything if it doesn't. It seems as if there is some sort of tab where the wings extend from the antenna body. I do not want to break anything trying to try if it is not intended to shrink.

What is this "Wingman attachment" of which you mention? Will it answer my question above?

OP here... Per Scott and Barney's good comments about apearance of a customer from a buyers viewpoint makes a lot of sense. As such I am also cleaning up a botched preventative maintainance attempt of which I documented IN THIS THREAD TOPIC.

I am going to renew the roof to a better look as described in that conversation thread above (please feel free to comment/ and advise on materials and method so I do not muck it up again.)

BUT, back to the antenna question:
Is there new technology that will allow some sort of digital antenna that does not need to be this Winegard model? I have seen some of those "as seen on TV" digital antennas (which are not exterior weather rated items) and would that not be a better option for RV'ing entertainment? I am not up on the latest RV TV technology, but has over-the-air reception for campers taking an better form than a scissoring and rotating wing?

I am still thinking of deleting it altogether so as to not fiddle with new coax cable and all associated with repairing it so as to eliminate potential leak. But is there an antenna alternative?

No offense taken, I appreciate the candor and a point of view from a buyers side.

I am going to leave it off for the winter because I am not getting much inquiry (wrong time of year to move it) and because without it, it is so much easier to clear the snow off.

I will heed the advice come summer time to reinstall it when hopefully the snows have ended and it is the better selling season.

X2. No offense to you but I would wonder what else is missing or what repairs have been skipped. Seeing something like that just makes me think it isn't that nice of a unit.

I never used it or a TV in side the whole time I have owned it, the antenna came with the camper- I would not have ordered it given the option.

At this point I am not going to install anything. The camper is on the market- I will include it in any sale but off to the side...I will let the next owner choose what to put in it's place.

The coax was starting to break down and I took it off because of that as well that it is pain in the butt sweeping snow off the roof with this thing in the way- I should have taken it off years ago.

OK thanks. I wasn't sure so appreciate you confirming it is non-telescopic.

I looked closer, it is a Winegard brand.

Note, that's it, just folds down against the roof.
