Sad day for campers in NC.

That CW in Myrtle Beach must be the one we visited last year. My DD's father-in-law was looking at a used Class A and the salesman did not impress me. He didn't offer to show them anything else but this one unit. I was disappointed. Now another sales associate in the same place might have done more for him, shown him more units, talked over what he really wanted and what to look for. His wife was not interested...she doesn't need another "house" to clean (they already have a rental home in FL to take care of in between the snowbirds), so I was kind of concerned. I think we made our experience with our MH sound too good to him:) But we don't have another rental property to deal with..

Unfortunately, there's not clones of her everywhere. We had an unfavorable experience at the CW in Myrtle Beach on 544 several years ago. First impressions do mean a lot. Just as I've had unfavorable ones at TJ, others have had them at certain CW's.

Don't want to "pile on"...but....we have found twice the sales people at Myrtle Beach have the "you are bothering me" attitude.

We are two of lots of MB vacationing campers with time to spend looking for our next camper.

Like I said, we tried twice...won't be a third time.

I have an RV dealer 10 minutes from my house. Did business with him once...next Tuesday i am going to Camper Country in Myrtle Beach to pick up our new 5th wheel. He acted like he could care less if i did business with him or not.

I live 5 hours from Tom Johnson. 3 from MB.

you are right. And CW's just don't pop up on their own normally. Usually they are buying out another business. If the business was doing good before, then why would they sell out? For the money. I'm 100% positive that TJ was doing good, but it must of been time for him to retire and the price must of been right.

..or as I stated, an RV dealership that has great access from the Interstate, has lot's of acreage to work with and a huge service area...The business I spoke of earlier was first Ledfords, then sold to the Todd family, (Todds RV), the last year they were open you could tell they were about to go out of business or just didn't want to mess with it anymore. CW came in, bought it and now it's thriving, and believe me a lot of people in and around this area are grateful to have this alternative then having to drive to TJ's, or wherever....I speak from living here since 93, towing TT's and RV's WELL before that and dealing with RV dealers in TN, NC, SC, VA and WVa....some are good, some are worthless....CW came to this area and we like it for what we use it for and judging by their business a lot of other people feel the same way.

TJ's was fine, but they too had their good points and bad points...I doubt a lot of people in Western NC will miss them all that much, but am just speaking from my own opinion

Do you really think CW would take the time to talk you thru a problem long distance? Shoot they ignored me in their dealership, much less on the phone. Do you really think CW would take the time to help with a new TV?

Yes they do...my boss' daughter bought a TT from CW in statesville. They were at the beach and had an issue. It was water pump or water heater. They called the store and they put a technician on the phone and talked them through how to get by until they could bring the unit back in after their vacation. They could of actually taken it to the local CW and got it fixed, but decided to just wait. CW does that sorta thing. At least this one did.

Have you encountered a CW that was not successful? Everyone I have been to had more business than they can handle. I doubt they have any intention of putting Lazyday's out of business. They don't need too do this. Many of the complaints you read about are from the "me" people that are mad because CW will not drop everything and take care of their needs before anyone else. Easy to read between the lines on the "cronic" posters. Most have nothing else to do other than complain.
