- VeebyesExplorer IIFor cleaning before laying down a fresh bead of silicone rubber, use either acetone or laqour thinners.
The 3M 4200 is a bonding product & is almost as nasty as 5200. Once on it is near impossible to remove. Way overkill if the object is waterproofing not bonding. - CasinojunkieExplorer

Depends on the seams. If they are fiberglass to fiberglass, metal, or other hard materials I would use 3M 4200. If it is the fiberglass to rubber roof seam you need to use sealant compatable with the roof material. For maintaining the exterior use the same thing to wash that you use on your vehicle. I prefer Starbrite marine products for waxing and polishing.
Thanks for the input but
not looking for a maintaince product but one to clean surface before applying caulk, or eternabond.
Most dealer shops use acrysol. You can get it thru them. I carry a can with me all the time. You know, in case I tear the roof on a limb and have to fix it in the boonies.,
Thanks - RVUSAExplorer

The manufacturer's service manuals should have product specifications and part numbers. Many RV dealers carry these products in 3M and Dicor brands, manufacturers often use products not branded for retail. Any servicing RV dealer can help you select for each seam application.
Alternatively, a number of RV owners advocate taping over seams with Eternabond products, which are also different for different applications. - prichardsonExplorerDepends on the seams.
