SHOUTOUT FOR DOMETIC

1. The DW and I purchased a Dometic revolution 310 toilet for out fiver in July 2011. According to Dometic's website, the toilet has a two year warranty. In mid August of this year the toilet developed a problem. The seal where the porcelain bowl meets the plastic base gave way and started to leak. I took a shot and called Domectic it ask if it could be repaired. The agent I spoke to asked me for the serial number, which I provided, and she informed me that I was out side the two warranty period. I told her that I understood that, but wanted to know if I could fix it. She stated unfortunately there was no fix, because it is a factory sealed unit. She then, to my surprise, offered to replace the toilet free of charge including shipping charges to my home. I would be resonsible for installation charges only. She asked me if this was acceptable, to which I eagerly agreed. The entire evolution took less than a week as I received the replacement toilet today via UPS. I plan on installing it this weekend. THANK YOU Dometic for standing behind your product and the excellent service you provided me!!!!!
  • Welcome to the forums, and it is always nice to see something positive about a company.
  • I called Domestic 2 weeks ago on my toilet model #310. I'm in my 2nd year of warranty. They send me every part that I needed within 3 days. No charge and free shipping! Great company to deal with!!
  • Fair enough! It's nice to hear that there are companies that stand behind their products.

I'm just wondering how many more posts before someone has something bad to say about them.:R
  • That's great news. It's refreshing to hear of a company standing tall when it counts.
  • We replaced the dead Dometic firdge in our rig in May this year. Swallowed hard and paid the nearly $1800, but didn't want the hassle of having to run the generator to keep a residential fridge running while driving.

Much to my surprise, the RV repair shop I used for the replacement sent me a Dometic flier last week announcing a promotion for anyone who had bought a fridge - a free ice maker (worth $300) or a 6-bottler wine cooler, worth $250.

We sent the paperwork in, requesting the wine cooler about a week ago. It was delivered yesterday. Now I have to figure out an installation. We took the bedroom TV out last year (don't even watch the front TV very much). I'll be designing an installation in that space.

Dometic have been prompt in answering questions. Kudos to them. Even more so, kudos to the repair shop I used, JR RV Repair and Maintenance in Sedro-Woolley, WA, who alerted me to the promotion 3 months after I had the job done and just a week before it expired.

    Thanks to everyone involved.
  • Just replaced our A/C unit on the roof of our 5'r. Did the installation myself and everything went well and unit runs like a top.

Had some trouble trying to register the unit with Dometic, on line. No matter what model number(s) I tried to enter, the system didn't like it. I made several phone calls to the customer support line and the folks were very friendly and helpful. No matter what they told me, the on-line registration would not work for me, but I finally sent my information, by email, and in less than 24 hrs. I had a reply that my unit was now registered. Thank You!
