Tow dolly & jeep wrangler

Good Day,

I have a '17 2D wrangler that we want to take along with our 24ft class C. I have never towed a vehicle, always had TT w/tow vehicle. I know that wranglers are perfect for flat 4 towing but we have access to a tow dolly and instead of purchasing all the items to rig up our wrangler for flat towing, can/is it feasible to tow our wrangler with the tow dolly? Good or bad idea? I can not think of any reason this won't work, but figured I would ask before I assume :)

    does 2D mean 2-door or 2-wheel drive? some 4WD jeeps cannot be dollied and
    must either be trailered ir flat towed. chk the Recreational Towing section if your owner’s manual.

    ok, well i recall reading that dolly towing. 4WD jeep will danage the vehicle. chk your owner’s manual. if you don’t have one they are available online on the jeep website.

    Check your owners manual but my recollection is no 4WD Jeeps can be dollied.

    All down or no down.

    No 4 wheel drive jeep can be towed on a dolly

    'Why dolly' He is asking because he already has the dolly and wanted to hopefully avoid buying the necessary equipment for 4 down towing.
    Yes I am guilty of either not reading or forgetting an important part of the original post.

    From Page 149 of the User Guide: DO NOT dolly tow any 4WD vehicle. Towing with only one set of wheels on the ground (front or rear) will cause severe transmission and/or transfer case dam- age. Tow with all four wheels either ON the ground, or OFF the ground (using a vehicle trailer).

    So I think you have your answer. That said, I believe once you tow 4-down you will never want the hassles that come with a dolly again.
