The 2015 HD has been on dealer lots for only a few months. I have only read a couple posts from owners. Mechanically the 2015 is very similar to the 2011+ GM HD which is only slightly different back to 2007.5. It's a good combo, although not as much power as the V10s you had. Power comes on pretty strong over 3000rpm, but it cruises comfortably in 5th gear at 65mph on flat highway. The 6-spd trans really helps get into the powerband quickly and holds it there when needed.
Yeah their on the road.
Just got back from Florida where we spent 10 days with our son and his familly.
He just bought a 2015 3/4 ton 4x4 Dmax/A with all the bells and whistles. It replaced a '02 chevy Dmax/A with the Edge programmer and with 210k miles.
We used the '15 truck a few times to pull his 9000 lb 26' blue water boat with twin 200 hp 'rudes for some off shore and inter coastal fishing and boat riding.
Granted its as flat as west TX in east central Florida but the truck was very quiet and the Allison never came out of OD even at 70 mph.
He also pulls a 14k GVWR bunk house 5er. He just prepped the truck for the 5er for his 2 week stay in the keys the first of July. He says the '15 pulls the 5er much easier than the '03 even with a programmer.
He's impressed. - Dave_H_MExplorer IIIsn't the V10 still available in the F450 and up?
If so, I don't think we should say they are not available.
Anyhow, I tow with the 6.2 Ford which is the replacement for the V10 in little trucks like my F250.
So why would one have to go to the GM 6.0 because Ford drops the V10 for the 6.2 V8?
If just shy of 400 ponies won't get me there, I am not interested in going. Just thinking logic. - brittsnbirdsExplorerGood luck with the 6.0. It will not come close to keeping up with the V10. I would have held out if that's what you are use to. Only thing Chevy has that will give the V10 any competition pulling is the Duramax. I have a 6.0 in an '09 and it pulls my 34' 5th wheel ok. But no Duramax or V10. Totally different beast's!!

It might be a bit early to be asking about 2015 models.
We are interested in any experiences with this specific truck. - mkirschNomad IINot trying to be anything but pragmatic here, but isn't it a little late to be asking that question?
I should hope the 2015 tows as well if not better than whatever you had before. Remember it's going to take several thousand miles for everything to break in properly so fuel economy may be a little low.
Profile says Heartland Bighorn 3055, which specs out dry at 10,500lbs and GVWRs at 14,000lbs. As long as the pin weight isn't ridiculous it should handle it just fine. - Mr_BeeboExplorerI have the 4.10 gear and my capacity is about 14K. I haven't towed anything close to 36' but I've had as much as 11k behind it and it pulled everything fine.
- Peg_LegExplorerMy 2012 truck has the same engine and rear end as yours. My 5th wheel has a gross weight of 13,500 lbs which is right at the max rating for my truck. I have no problems towing but then again I have the 3500 dually.
- Lucyc858ExplorerWe have been towing fifth wheels since 1989. The trailer is under the towing capacity for the new 2015 Chevrolet. It has the 410 rear end and is a Vortec 6.0L V8 with a 6 speed transmission. It is a long bed. We are interested in any experiences with this specific truck. Our previous towing vehicles were all Fords and the last 3 were V10s. Unfortunately that engine is no longer available in trucks. We asked about ordering a Ford and were told they would not be available until fall.

So do I, on both counts, but it's not pulling a 36 footer!
I tow with a 3/4 ton and love it. Duramax that is.
