water jugs that DO NOT LEAK

You might try putting some Teflon tape on the threads. Our old "cheapo" from Wallyworld we use for iced tea doesn't leak.

I've got several of the common Reliant brand blue jugs from Wally (available everywhere too) and don't recall ever having a problem with them leaking. They seem to be pretty good quality. Those are the only ones I have experience with other that the 30 year old blue jug I still have but can't remember where the heck it came from. That one was OK too.

Here's the ones I have and they don't leak. About 5 years old:

They've got the dispensing spout too but you can't see it as it's flipped inside the cap. Wally sells them so take a look.

X2 they are great never had one leak in 10 + years of use.

Maybe these will be OK with the Teflon tape as an aid on the threads. That seems like a good solution.

Several of the reviews said the cap cracked, but I suspect someone cross-threaded it and muscled it on.

I'll probably look for a couple of the smaller versions for easier handling.

I really like the looks of these. The larger one would be just right. Some of the reviews had trouble cleaning it, but I think that would be easy with something like a bottle brush to reach the corners.

We had an aquatainer for afew years and it worked well.
We got the 8 gallon hydroroller and got rid of the aquatainer.
That hydroroller has leaked from the threads ever since we got it.
I even contacted the company and ordered and paid for a new cap and spout. Still leaked.
Last year I tried teflon tape, less leaking, but still leaked.
There is a linear seam (two sides of the plastic unit fuses together)that runs perpendicular to the treads. I think it may be the source. We generally leave the thing home, unless we need to haul extra water, and then we keep it vertical until we use it, then we tip it so the spigot will work.
Very dissappointed in this product.

I have 3 Aquatainers, they have never leaked during about four years use.

This spring I discovered that I had left the Aquatainers full of water over the winter. Obviously they froze solid and thawed more than once. They still don't leak. I'm happy.

I either use one of the water jugs that come with buying water for 89 cents, or an used milk carton. I have some that are over 5 years old and have thrown out some after 2 years. None have cost me extra money. They are great for refilling at the machines.

I've found that sealing with a plastic bag over the threaded fitting works pretty good.
