Yet more quality issues

Remember me? The fellow that complained last week about quality issues? Yes, the guy that almost "had the vapors."
Well, today I discovered rain water running out from the inside of the front cap of the fifth wheel. Yep, the very front cap that was removed to inspect why there was over 1 inch pin box frame flex. Having a lump in my throat, I went inside to find wet walls, black mold, the new mattress wet and moldy, finish coming off the cabinets, and the carpet wet.
Up top (it's raining and I'm on top), I found that the cap had raised up about 1/4 inch in a couple places, and water running in over the top of a shoddy seal job.
SO, use caution on Friday April 6th, between Coeur d Alene Idaho and Liberty Lake Washington--there's gonna be a white Ram towing a waterlogged Cougar fifth wheel trailer to the shop.
  • I'm curious; Did you buy your rig new or used ?

  • So sorry to hear. I didn't see you this morning. My commute probably happens before the dealer opens.
  • Terrible! I wish they would take more pride in their workmanship. Good luck
  • x2 on the insurance call. Call them before you take it to the dealer. Let them handle the dealer.
  • I spoke to tech support for a product that I'm buying. In the end I will need to take my truck to the dealer for ecm reprogram. I told him fine but I dreaded going there.

He said I know I used to work for an auto dealership. He said it's not about customer service, it is completely about money. True they are a for profit operation but no matter how incompetent or how many issues pop up the customer is eating all of it. If they were 100 % efficient they would then want to squeeze or cut or pass on even more to the customer. It's like a machine that must always get more no matter who has to pay. I said I believe that's a pretty good description.
  • Sounds like lots of damage. I'd fight to have it totalled as it will never be the same.
