Sharing my trip to Mackinac Island - Must visit, Period!

Hello All,

We travel in our RV everywhere, we do less camping and more of traveling so we can see places. We travelled from Norther VA to Mackinac Island and I have to admit that is one of the beautiful place, taken back in time.

I have recorded the video of visit, below is the link

Mackinac Island

There is a nice campground Tipi with a nice view of the bridge.

Enjoy and safe travels everyone

  • thanks for posting that. Lovely place, been there, recommend to anybody.
  • I enjoyed the video. Very pretty place and it looks like fun. Thank you for sharing.
  • My Wife and I are bikers and put in 2000 miles per year on them. MI is one of our favorite places to ride. It is nine miles around the island and there is a view of the water most of the way.
  • Mackinac Island has No campground or allow any motorcycle to drive around the 9 mile Island roads. :)
  • Enjoyed the video.Thank you for sharing. That is on my travel list. Did you see any visitors with dogs? They are allowed and can ride in the carriages. I need to get Gracie trained to ignore horses before we make that trip.

  • I think Dick_B was referring to bicycles? (At least I hope so!) Lots of bikes on the island, and you can rent them as well as bring your own.

What we loved was the garbage trucks - big tall wagons pulled by a couple draft horses. :)

The only motorized vehicles allowed on the island are police cars, fire trucks and ambulance - and I believe only one (or a very few) of each. Wonderful place, one of my favorites since childhood.

In the winter you can ride snow mobile because the pavement is covered with snow and your vehicle is not touching it directly and that is the loop hole there.
