Found Dogs

I'm posting this here hoping maybe it will help. Last week two beautiful golden retrievers showed up in our neighborhood, we have been looking all over for the owners. One of the dogs is chipped but the owners never registered, he was chipped in Missouri is all I know. We have posted on several Facebook pages for lost pets in MO.. Wondering if it was someone passing through.

We have been in contact with a golden rescue site and they will take the dogs after 30 days if nobody claims them, I just can't believe these dogs aren't being missed.

I'm hoping we can find their home.

They are in Wichita KS btw.
  • Check the lost & found ads on Craigslist. If someone just moved to the area, they may be missing from the new home. Also, any shelters or humane societies in the county should have a lost and found on their website. You could list found and check the lost listings. Good Luck.

I'm a bit puzzled. The chip maker knows what DVM had the chip and that DVM would know which dog he put the chip into, even if the dog's owners did not send in their registration data. It's a matter of tracking it all down....

I guess it was the breeder that had the male chipped, you would think they would have records of where the dogs went but I guess not.
  • I'll bet the owners were moving and the dogs got loose and tried to get back to their old home. Thanks so much for trying to help them. I hope the family is found soon.
  • I found a dog and took it to the Vet who said it was chipped a few states away - still got name of owner which led to successful reunion. You local vet might help.

PS - don't forget Craigslist - it's free and I always see people posting about lost dogs.
