110 outlets

2018 Montana...โ€ฆ..mo 110 outlets in front half of 5th wheel . Thought it was circuit breaker...โ€ฆ.not! Then GFI in bathroom.....not again!! Anybody have any ideas. I ihave to power going to the circuit breaker.

Do not use a generator...found the park power box with the 50 amp outlet was loose which allowed the the power cord to back out....and not stay connected right. Repaired the power box and now have correct 50 amp power once more!!

Maybe the transfer switch contacts are stuck

Btw a gfi will not reset unless there is power to the gfi outlet
I can explain it to you.
But I Can Not understand it for you !

Do you mean " no power " on the wire terminal of the dbl pole breaker ?
When resetting GFI make sure all outlets on that circuit have nothing plugged in. If it still doesn't reset then gfi either bad or you have a bad wire and it's doing its job. Normally the gfi only protects the bath/kitchen/ outside plugs

IF the RV is 50 amp you could have a park side problem (Those are super easy to ID in my rig)

If you are comfortable with volt meters open the distribution box and probe for power on both mains if 50 amp (if 30 amp you have only one main) CAREFUL DANGEROUS VOLTAGES

Then turn off the main, , unplug, and using a flashlight make sure all and I mean all screws in that box are tight.

Also cycle off and on EVERY breaker.. do not trust eyes. Manually force it off and on.

I HIGHLY advise unplugging RV and check every connection from the power cord even inside Marinco plugs, junction boxes and every connection inside the panel breakers etc. you will be amazed at all the locations that are NOT TIGHT!!!

Yes it does and my power worked for 2 days and now the same problem with the GFI again....no power to the front of the 5th wheel!!

That is #1 cause of "GFCI WON't RESET" but .. you said you checked the GFCI's.

Also I mentioned loose screws... IF the screw is loose providing power to the breaker (Both black and white) there will be no indicator light and it wont' reset.

Had checked everything.......and could not a problem. Then....yesterday morning saw the little light on the GFI was lit....1st time in 3 day!! Tested the GFI and was able to reset it. Went around the 5ver and found the out The Theylets that did not work....now they do!! The 2 breakers that did not work now had power again. Only think that I could think of was maybe water in the outside 110 outlet and once it dried out.....everything worked. One rv repair guy said on his trailer...same thing had happened to him. Took the outlet apart...dried it off and it worked for him. It had just poured rain hard as we moved from one park to another and then found out that then I had a problem. It is a 2018 Montana and never even thought about the outside receptical. Will see if I can seal any better than what is is. But as of now,everything is working like it should be.

That is another common problem. Many RVers have a few screws loose. In my Power panel they take a #2 Square or Phillips (Square works better for me) POWER OFF (unplug) when workign on those.

First thing I would do is check for voltage at every breakers load side. Before I would flip every breaker off and on.

This makes it appear that the problem is with the park's wiring. Do you have a 50 amp rig? Have you tested the power pedestal to be sure you are getting current on both legs at the pedestal. I would look for a problem before your breaker box since the first two double breakers have no power.

Are you saying you checked and there is no power off the breakers in the box?

True story: Man came to me "Half my electrical outlets don't work" I ask if he had an inverter (he did not know but we found it,, This was on a class A) The breakers looked somehting like this \/ Not \\ or // but \/. When he went back inside his wife ask "Does he think he can help" and the husband answered "he's already fixed it" (Turned on the off breaker).

Now to your problem.. Generally Trailers DO NOT have Inverters factory installed. (nor does MY Rv but I have one) But they do have "uni-box" or "quick-box" outlets.

With this type of outlet instead of strippign the wire you just strip off the outer jacket and then jam the wire down in a slot. the metal edges of the slot cut through the insulation and make contact. Works great for a 100mA or less phoen or Teletype line but for a 10Amp plus (power circuit.... not so good.
Then they shove a 2nd wire on top of the first and that runs off to the next outlet

The connections can melt.

Start with your test device (Light or meter) at the GFCI. pull it usually it has wires around a screw or poked into a hole or wire-nutted and if it's wire nutted that's suspect #1 Make sure you have power in and out.. then map out what works and what does not. Pull the boxes. open them and check for power using your test device.. if none at all. Close that box and `move on to the next. Best I can advise.

If you have a slide-out with an outlet there will be two junction boxes under the slide.

NOTE If you are NOT comfortable working on live circuits (I am and tend to forget to say this) Get professional help.. Live 120 volt circuits can be deadly
