1986 Wire Diagram

I have a 1986 Gulf Stream Sun Sport model 8300.
Does anyone know where I could find a wire diagram.
  • Only a few RV's have actual wiring diagrams. Most are wired like a house - circuits just run as needed.
  • Many RVs are built in somewhat similar ways, and most use the same basic parts. If you described your problem, it's possible that someone here has a similarly wired rig and they can point you in the right direction.

Color coded, end-labeled wires neatly arranged in an accessible wiring harness according to a complete and standardized wiring diagram are, unfortunately, a pipe dream. Especially for a 1986.
  • Without being overly critical, IMO you are expecting way too much from your RV manufacturer. Although a general wiring diagram may have existed at the time of manufacture, chances are that there are/were so many variations based on available options, plus previous owner changes, that it wouldn't make sense today. Whatever wiring diagrams the RV manufacturer made, if any, hit the circular file years ago.

IMO if you really want/need one, your best bet would be to draw/make your own diagram based on your best "guess" of what "should" be there. Use the wire gauges/colors/locations/voltages/amps/functions to start with. Good luck, I hope I'm wrong and you find what you are looking for.

Second thought: I don't know who made the chassis (Chevrolet, I think) but you may be able to get the chassis wiring diagram from the factory service manual. That would not include the coach wiring.
