professor95 does the champion gen idle when not loaded or does it run wide open all the time?
Unlike "inverter models" that can idle down and still electronically regulate frequency, the line frequency on the Champ (and other similar models) is determined by engine speed. Therefore, it must run at 3,600 RPM all the time - light load or heavy load.
