If I owned a JD or other off brand Chinese genset, I would try to use Champion parts to fix it.
When I exchanged some e-mails with Paul at Champion regarding doing a conversion of my 46535 to a 46540, he was very helpful. He also told me that the 46535 had higher capacity windings than the 46540 which is why it has one 20 amp and one 15 amp circuit.
One last note. When I took apart my Cobra 2550 inverter, all of the outlets were on one circuit. I will now be shore, generator and inverter powered.
