If you want quiet and reliable, I don't think that you could go wrong with a Honda 1000i or 2000i for battery charging. They are pricey but you could find a used one. There is also Kipor. Look at Ebay to get an idea on what's available but I wouldn't buy on off-brand. Parts and service would probably be non-existent.
These 3000 watt Chinese units should be quieter than your 10kw diesel by a lot but, not really quiet. That's why many of us are building enclosures to reduce their noise.
