Definitely recheck and see if the petcock is where your gas is leaking. I, along with others on this forum, also had a gas leaking issue, and as best I can recollect, in all instances it was caused by the petcock bending/cracking the gas tank because of rough handling during shipment. As Prof said, Champion service is tops, and I predict they will get you what you need to fix the gas leak problem very quickly once you let them know about it.
