AC Roof top Unit not working

I was checking out the Camper the other day making a list of projects I wanted to get done before spring and I noticed last night that the Ac unit is not working with the Generator running. I tried the fan only and still nothing. I went to the Circuit breakers in the back and nothing was tripped. I than decided to try to run the unit of my back up generator that I plugged into my shore line still nothing. Does anyone have any ideas for what to try next. I did have some issues over the summer where the AC unit would only work with the main generator running. I am not sure if the 2 issues are connected.
  • There is no electrical cover near the Ac unit. The only thing showing is the Ac vent which is 18in by 18inches with the knobs attached to it everything else seems to be on top of the RV.
  • Is there a electrc cover on the ceiling near the AC shroud. Get your volt meter, the black wire in the box is the hot +; the green wire is earth ground -; and the white wire is neutral. Set the volt meter to any setting higher than 120Volts AC. take the red wire and touch a bare spot with the probe on the black wire + in the box; then the black wire and touch the probe to a bare spot on the green. you should see voltage. If not do the same on the inverter AC breaker which is hot +; the ground on the meter can hooked to metal frame of the inverter. Still no Voltage then locate the trnsfer switch and keep working back to the source. ***Make sure your feet and you are not wet***
  • Hi yes all other outlets and appliances work. I double checked the circuit breaker again and it wasn't tripped. Is there something I am missing. There is no thermostate because it's an older unit and only has the knobs on the unit that control the can and the temp. Also the furnace does work. I did turn the breaker on and off and still nothing
  • Does any other 110V AC appliances etc. work when running gen?

Microwave, items plugged into outlets, fridge on electric?

IF nothing else 110V works.....transfer switch

Only A/C not working is problem with tripped breaker(s), bad t-stat.
AC breakers..did you turn them OFF and then back ON or just look?
    Bad t-stat......does furnace work?
