I get that dielectric is better, but is it ok to go ahead and use lithium since I have it and am not near a store? These are for charging my shave ice nachine off the alternater - 85aH gel cells.

Amen to Dielectric. Right tool for the job!

For amperes up to 16, I MUCH prefer Weather Pack connectors to Anderson. Zero question. A much better designed and easier to use connector. Anderson for +16 amps, but then if space permits a dual-pole Pollak or Cole Hersee split pin is the hot setup. With crippled hands I have nothing but curse words for Anderson Power Pole Connectors. But this is a personal issue.

I'd use deoxit instead of grease. Handles are a great idea.

Hmmm.. maybe I should pack those things. I used to carry a film container of lithium grease when bike touring.

I thought about asking my friend to plug and unplug them a few times, but I saw the look on her face when she saw me thinking it. She had to go through some pretty complex contortions to get them apart once.

Grease on the metal bits. Wax on the plastic. Silicone spray on everything in a pinch.
