Atwood G6A-8E not lighting every time

Hi, I have a 1999 Fleetwood C-Class with the above hot water heater. When we hit the switch it doesn't light every time. It will click to ignite and after about 10 seconds it will click off and the light will go red. Some times it will work flawlessly for a weekend and sometimes it won't work at all or it will work but when it wants to re-ignite it won't work. The tube is clean and I have changed the igniter probe but it doesn't make a difference. If I have someone hit the switch inside while I light a bbq lighter in the tube it will work.
Could this be the black printed circuit board or ?
  • Check the 'power track' and 'valve track' on that potted board.
    Simple test using multi-meter

Defective..replace with a Dinosaur Electronics Board

    Tests on pg. 23
  • Check the grounds on the gas valve. It is located behind the valve on a mounting bolt for the valve.
Split the wiring on the gas valve. Use an ohm meter to check the two coils. They should have the same resistance.
Clean the contact on the circuit board.
