Bigfoot leveler issue on Class A MH

My 2002 Georgie Boy Cruise Master was sitting in one place for 12 years. (It was lived in by spouse who recently passed away). I have recovered the RV and had a lot of work done on it to get it back in good working condition. On recent trip the Bigfoot levelers were working fine. Had no problems with them for several weeks.

Last time used, however, the rear right leveler refused to come all the way up. All others are good. However, the ALL UP light is on!!!! I tried re-leveling the RV to reset them. Now the front levelers will work but NEITHER of the back ones will move at all. The one that is up will not go down and the one at half staff stays that way. Again the ALL UP light is on.

This left me with driving from Albuquerque to East Texas with one jack lower than the others. And of course, I was not able to use the levelers again.

The batteries are all in top notch condition (fully charged). THREE coach batteries and one vehicle battery.

Being of the female persuasion and a LONG time member of the forum and once upon a time a rally queen in CA (that's what they called me ..lol) I know the best place to get an answer on what to do would be from the gang on RV.net. Admittedly I have been on a long term hiatus but now am retired and I am back. And I see the forum is still going strong. Good news!!!!!

Any help will be much appreciated.

    yep, probably a bad switch at the jack. had a similar problem with my big foots a few years ago. replaced switch and all is well.

Guy told us how to get them back up. Then told us what he thought I had damaged and what to check when we got home. Sure enough he was right. Sent us the part and instructions on how to replace. We are less than a hundred miles from factory. But all we had to pay for was the part. Great company.


    I second this. I did a Big Foot install on our previous motorhome myself and found their Tech Department to be excellent. You may find that they can give you very simple information that you would be willing to try yourself.

  • I will call my son and ask if he checked the fluid before I drove it from CA to TX. I know there was an issue with the left one that he had fixed, but we did not know of an issue with the right one till now.

    Thanks for the great comebacks. It is a pain to be a senior female and have to deal with this stuff yourself. I am used to dumping the outside of an RV issues on a husband. :) I will follow up on this and then report back.
  • Probably low on fluid ( they usually need automatic transmission fluid) make sure you put the correct fluid in.
