ok it's the main fuse that's on the outside 12 camper battery. camper was ok for 2 days in the driveway, walked in side camper. fridge light is... check fuse on outside 12 camper battery, try new fuse it blows out. ok turn off all 120 volt breakers, thinks that might have something to do with it. blow another fuse, pull all 12 volt fuses in the panel ,,blow another fuse,,un plug fridge 120 volt..blow another fusei'm lost on what to do ,no 120 power to the camper, all 12 volt fuses pulled, but still blow another fuse. only have 1 day till trip. looking for help.notesit has not rained in 5 days,it ran for 2 days then problem. never had a problem with this the camper. lost on why it's blowing fuses.

It sounds like to me that both the 120 and 12 volt systems are blowing fuses, is this correct? The only item common to both systems is the converter. Could you disconnect both the 120 volt and 12 volt from the converter and see what happens? Could be an internal short in the converter transformer causing the problem. With converter disconnected all plugs in the camper should work if it is the problem. Also 12 volt items should work off battery.

Could you disconnect both the 120 volt and 12 volt from the converter and see what happens when i walked in the camper i had a 120 volt fan on the table that was working , then i noticed the fridge light out, so i 120 volt is ok, it's the 12 volt that's blowing the fuse. so i closed all 120 breakers, and it still blowing fuses, 12 volt fuse at the battery, no power going in,, 120 unpluged, all all 12 volt fuses pulled from the panel too and it still blowing fuses at the battery.

Always suspect the last thing that was touched. What have you done with the battery or nearby in the two days you have been getting ready? What wires have you connected/reconnected?

X2 on having batteries installed in reverse... The way I do this is always make a mental note of the words "NEG" or the SYMBOL "-" on the 12VDC battery case. This terminal must go to the trailer FRAME GROUND which will be close to the installed battery.If it is installed wrong change to the correct position and then change the close-by INLINE FUSE as well as two fuse on the 12VDC Power Distribution Panel labeled REVERSE POLARITY.let us know what you find...Roy Ken

What converter was it? Jaycos used to have a DLS but one that had no jack for adding the 3-stage controller. If so, replace with a better converter that will do more stages. Several choices, each with its own fan club. I have a PowerMax I like.

You can still go camping with no converter, so there is no panic to make up your mind or not get a good price. Just use a portable charger as required to keep the batts topped up.

ok :) first i have A BAD COLD can't smell anything
was at my last straw

called my brother who's good with wiring
turns out the converter was shot.. it was shorting out the system.
also the fuses on the converter were good, (12 volt one's ) when he pulled it out , i smelled by the fan and then i could smell the burnt smell,, just wild it the the outside fuse on the converter were not blown , but the one at the battery was.
so he pulled the converter , , put a fuse in at the battery everything is working.. now i need to relapse the converter

Sounds like a short to ground, on the positive wire between battery and converter.

Disconnect battery and shorepower, and follow that positive wire to the converter. It may go through a junction box under the trailer. Check for pinching, chafing, signs of sparks, etc. Inside the junction box (if there is one) look for loose connections, signs of sparks, corrosion.

Put the fuses back into the fuse panel, connect shorepower (not the battery), if 12 volt systems work, that eliminates coverter as the problem.

He is not asking if shore power is fine. He is asking if, with battery disconnected, is the 12v power OK when plugged in. It is the 12v he wants to know about.

Try this. Use a test light to connect two sides of fuse holder, If light is on you have a direct short. Start to pull fuses and jiggle wires to see if you can get light to go out. When light goes out you found the problem area. Also if intensity of light varies, you are in the right place. You may need someone watch light for you, or if you have a long double wire, you can take test light wherever you are checking.

120 is fine, cables are on the right terminals.
i thinking the problem is the brakes , i tried it with the breakaway pulled out, blew fuse, put it back in, blew fuse.
ok my thinking is
since i have all fuses out of the panel their's nothing connected on the trailer. are trailer emergency breaks hard wired so to speak, in that their is no fuse, i mean i trying to find what could be blowing it.
guess my next step is to pull the converter , disconnect the 12 volt fuse panel and see if is still blows fuses . i have all of them out and wondering if a short is in the fuse block on the panel itself.
gasping at anything to try. their are no signs of mice or anything that chewed on any wires.
