- BumpyroadExplorersurely somebody here has switched their bulb to an LED to limit parasitic loads.
bumpy :) - Boon_DockerExplorer IIII don't think it is a good idea to put a plastic LED in a convection oven. :W
- shastagaryExploreri copied this from one of the apollo manuals
My light bulb is out
they always say that don't they? was in the service section of the manual. usually they are only accessible by taking the outside cover off. i have never looked at that brand though.
, how can I
replace
it?
The
light bulb can be
replaced
ONLY
by a
Qualified
Service
AGENT - Joe417ExplorerManual said requires an authorized service tech. That usually means it was designed by an engineer without common sense, meaning that you have to pull the case off.
Probably an easy task, but I do this kind of work daily.
Hopefully it uses common components, but you may have to order some exotic bulb that the same engineer designed into it.
Still a lot cheaper than taking it to a repair shop. - wa8yxmExplorer IIII agree I'd not switch to LED.. You should be able to do it yourself. however one word of caution.
There are two ways the lights are repalced. One you simply remove a cover INSIDE the Oven and you can access the bulb (Actually 3 ways now that I think of it)
3rd way is a access cover OUTSIDE the oven
2nd and I think this is most common you have to remove the outer housing. IF yours is like this be careful of SHARP EDGES on some of the internal metal parts. - BumpyroadExplorerwhy bother? I can't really see what is happening thru that front glass anyhow. and mine have all chimed when time is up.
bumpy - Boon_DockerExplorer IIIIf you try this yourself, be sure to discharge the capacitors or you may be in for a nasty shock if you accidentally touch the wrong wires.

How would that eliminate a parasitic load. :h - BumpyroadExplorer

that is something I learned here in a thread on replacing tail light bulbs. :)
bumpy - Campfire_TimeExplorerFind the exact model # and Google it with the words "replace light bulb". More than likely someone has posted a Youtube video or written detailed instructions on how to do it.
Our home microwave had an issue where when we closed the door it wouldn't cook. The solution was to bend a piece of metal inside where the door switch was attached. A common issue with this particular microwave. Two different independent repair shops posted Youtube videos on how to fix it.
