Exterior sealant for vertical surfaces?

Will be replacing a small piece of aluminum siding, need to put something under vertical sides - they overlap by 2", but it's better to seal, just in case. Also, might need to touch-up some on windows and doors.

It has to be clear - siding is gray-ish, windows are black on white wall, so clear is the only choice.

Have a gut feeling that a regular Exterior Urethane Caulk will do.

Fancy stuff like Dicor Non-Leveling Sealant I might consider, but I don't think it comes in clear.

I've been using Lexel Sealant for the last year or so and really like it. Comes in clear and other colors. Paintable, too. When you apply it, you can use a soapy wet finger to smooth it but be careful because if you smear it on where it's not wanted, it's not so easy to get off. Takes a couple of days to really cure but does the job for me. And I like the flexible smaller tube rather than the large tube used with a caulking gun.

Thanks. I had Geocel EPDM roof sealant and liked it better than widely advertised Dicor. No bubbling, no shrinking, and dries much faster (can be too fast on a hot day though).

Yes, on a brief glance 2300 and Pro Flex are the two runners-up.

Choose a Geocel product from this list that fits your application.
Geocel RV products. I used 2300 construction tripolymer and it is a heavy duty sealant. The specifications were a bit better than Proflex RV at the time I bought it. Both are very similar and you can search the product data sheets for the best fit for your use.

Like MFL said, go with Geocel Proflex! Best stuff for vertical surfaces!

Proflex comes in clear, and is very good around windows/doors/vertical sides. I also use Proflex in white, when it matches nicely.
