Frig not cooling properly?

The wires don't matter, but a couple of points- a bad thermistor is not likely your problem- you could just disconnect it and the refrigerator would just be "on".
I hate to say it, but your refrigerator is likely at the end of its lifespan- the insulation tends to break down, the doors don't fit or seal well, and the cooling units lose a bit of the hydrogen charge, plus becoming partially blocked.

I have purchased a new thermister. I can't see or find where it plugs in to the unit. I have watched a Youtube video where one was replaced and this gentleman just cut the wire inside the frig and connected to new one to it. He said it didn't matter which wire went where. Is that true?
I have a Norcold 8662 made in the middle 80's.

I started mine last week before going out for the weekend. I was at 50 in 105 temps outside and inside of trailer was 102.I decided to switch to gas because I thought it cooled better on gas. I went in on Thursday it was 60. I pulled off the outter cover and secured a small 9 inch house fan at the base of the fridge to blow air up through the coils. I also put a big bowl of ice in the fridge to help it cool down. I went back 3 hours later and it was down to 42. once I loaded cold things in it it maintained 38 all weekend long without the fan. If you don't have any cooling fans on the back of the fridge you might want to try this first to see if your temps will go down before doing anything major. Just a thought.

I've already tried blowing a fan into the rear outside vent and that didn't seem to make it any better. I've tried running it on gas also and it did no better than the electric. We left home in June with it working fine but when we arrived at the beach the next day this started.

Do you have same performance (or lack thereof) on all three modes?

Any blockage on the back from the outside vent to the roof vent??? Roof vent clear.

Sounds like it's shot - clogged with sediment and corrosion. If you turned it upside down, it must not have been working properly, right? Turning it upside down works, but even when it does work it doesn't work for long.

Any Ammonia smell or yellow powder in the back?

Temps should be 0 in the freezer and under 40 in the fridge.
