House ventilator vs bathroom

Hey everyone.

Quick question for you guys.

I'm working on my van conversion, I know normally you need a ventilator for the bathroom, but look at this picture, my house fantastic vent is inches away from the bathroom door, so do I really need one?

I could install a transfer grill on the wall next to the door.

  • You will not need a second fan. The Fantastic fans are great!

Are you planning on installing solar panels? A very worhtwhile addition, especially because each one will shade a large portion of your roof!

SUnElec.com They sell a 140 watt panel for about $229 a few weeks ago.

    Have fun camping!

I've seen several TCs with the vent just outside the bath door. They had a small gap at the top of the door. Will work.

The issue might be making sure the fan is off before flushing. You may want to put a second fan power switch in the wall inside the bath so you can switch it off just before the flush.

Turning it off will become second nature real quick. You'll only have to forget a couple of times. I speak from experience.

I will install a shower curtain on the inside wall that will slide over the door when showering so if I want to transfer air when the door is closed it can only come from a transfer grill on the wall (right side of the door)

Also I have a porta potty (see new picture), but thanks for the info :)

    It's mostly a moisture/humidity control question.

  • I think it will be fine. It's probably plenty for that size area. It looks well insulated.
