how to remove dryer from stackable w/d

We have 2013 itasca meridian 34b with the stacked w/d.

Has anyone tried to remove the dryer? Our as is not developing high heat and needs to come out of the closet to troubleshoot circuits.
  • We have Kenmore stack. It is very simple to remove unit(s) together to gain access to dryer. One power cord, one each water hose, one vent hose and any screws or brackets that support unit. You do have an exterior access door to get to rear of unit??

  • Mine is located on the passenger full wall slide, next to bedroom vanity. I had to remove the insides of the bedroom medicine cabinet to access the mounting screws which were attached to the top rear corner of the dryer. The dryer is attached to the washer by a wide L bracket in the front, and a U bracket in the rear. Removing the screws on the front bracket will allow you to lift the dryer above the bracket and pull forward.

Email or@winnebagoind.com, they provided me a diagram.

  • Depends on the model. Some are stacked at the installation site, and are easy to separate them. Some of the models at my work, a retirement center, have the washer controls at the dryer level, and can not be separated at all! They only have one power cord for the washer/dryer combo. If you have two power cords, then separation might be possible.

Currently we are buying new washers and dryers that have a 'stacking kit' and installing brackets on the bottom of the dryer to allow stacking on top of the front load washing machine. In this case, the front has sticky double sided clear tape, while the back are two brackets with 1/4" head screws holding the bracket to the washer, and no screws into the dryer, but it sits on top, then is shifted to the left, back into the bracket, then back to center to lock it in place on top of the washer. This way it can be stacked once the washer is in place, no tools required.

  • I haven't tried to remove mine but looks like bottom panel of dryer comes off exposing bolts or screws that hold it down. Looks like a real challenge.
