HowTo replace incandesent pancake bulb

This should be interesting, "how many RV.net-ers does it take to change a lightbulb?"

So far two. But we still don't have an answer. Wait, you don't know how to change that type of bulb either?

at least 5000 RV.netrs to give advice on WD, brake controllers and what brand and type of tires the OP shouldn't use instead of helpful advice of how to remove the bulb... :S :B

Most bulbs as long as they have the flat plastic plug in base should pull straight out but they can get difficult to pull out.

If your fixture has a bulb number listed you can look up the bulb number and take a good look at the base just to make sure it pulls striaight out.

Try a different bulb in a different fixture to see if it is not corroded into place.

Sounds like a wedge base, it should come right out of the socket.Started using these instead of #1141/1003 and such.

I grabbed it with a pair of 1/4" wide thin nose pliers and gave it good tug. The plastic base came out of its base, but at least then I could get a good grasp on the two and pull the bulb out. And, yes it does look like a wedge base. Thanks for the advice. I hate breaking things and do it often.

Those are also Halogen lamps in many. Don't touch glass with bare fingers as the oil in your skin will burn right through the glass.

Consider spending the 20 bucks on an LED replacement (I use Eco-Leds about 17-19 bucks a pop) ... If the things perform as advertised... I won't live long enough to change them again.

Put one LED panel (Closeout table 50 cents) in my car for a dome light. VERY BRIGHT (2x at least the normal dome light) only issue is there is a low current through the lamp even with door closed so the LED panel glows softly all the time. (I could fix that.. but why)

I replaced a 10 watt landscape light with a LED panel. Same effect as car save no current when off. (These are puck lights in my bedroom).

I'm slowlly (lamp at a time) going all LED.
